Hello,

We've got a largish PowerBuilder .Net 12.5 application.

What and how are the upgrade options for the application?

Is it possible to upgrade to Appeon Powerbuilder 2019?

Several years ago, we converted it from Classic to .Net, it took a person about a year to do that.

Cheers

Hi Peter;

   Appeon PB is based on what you refer to as PB "Classic". Appeon inherited the code line from SAP from PB v12.6. PB.Net was already deprecated at that time.

   There is no automated migration path from PB.net. Hopefully, you still have the PB 12.5 "Classic" source code of your application. Then you can automatically migrate that directly to PB 2017 or 2019. Then just apply any new functionality that was added to the PB.net version of your App to the migrated version.

Regards ... Chris

Thanks,

Is it correct that you need a PB 2017/19 version (aka PB "Classic") before you could use the PowerServer Web?

Corrollary, there is no way to use PowerServer Web with a Powerbuilder .NET (12.5)?

Cheers

No, PowerServer Web only works with PowerBuilder 2017 or 2019, which is different than the old PowerBuilder .NET.
