Dear PowerBuilders,

I've deployed my PB 2021, which uses PS 2021, to a client server and each frame window appends "(For Development Use Only)" to the window's title text (see attachment). I also see this text in my development environment, but only when I run my application with the PowerServer Project. If I run the client/server version, it doesn't show up. The PB 2019 version (using PS 2020) does not have this issue, and its web version does not display "(For Development Use Only)". I searched for this text in all PBLs and in all files in the App, CAP and Web API folders in the wwwroot directory, but without success.

How can I remove this text on my client's server?

Thank you,

George Mikhailovsky

Hi George,

The 'For Development Use Only' string appears only when the license you inserted in the Web APIs tab is a Development License. To get rid of this message, you need to replace said license for a Production License.

Please see this tutorial for more information on how to do this.

Regards,
Francisco

Hi Francisco,

Thank you for your prompt answer.

In my case, our company has PB license while our client holds PS license. Do you mean that I should ask client IT for their PS license file and then use it on Web APIs Tab of PowerServer Project?

Best regards,

George

Or the client can just change the license themselves following the instructions Francisco provided.

Hi George, the license can be changed both before and after deploying the project. Since you mention that the customer is the license holder, you can have him follow these steps (https://docs.appeon.com/ps2021/bk04ch12s02s01.html) to update the license after deployment.
