Where should I look into when the fileservice folder (C:\inetpub\wwwroot\fileservice is not there) is missing after a Successful fileserver setup.exe run?

Thanks

It turns out the IIS settings mismatched what's in the installation process.

Thank you all for your input!

@Govinda Lopez @Appeon

Yes, it is listed

The IIS_IUSRS has the Full control

I have also followed that doc in the URL you suggested.

I was able to get all the settings and was able to run the setup. The installation on server 2016 was successful and complete. However, the filesservice folder is missing.

Hi CJ,

Please make sure there are no restrictions making changes to those folders. Also, try installing it using an Admin account.

Please make sure that the application "Appeon File Server" appears in your list of installed applications. (Control Panel - Programs - Programs and Features - Uninstall or change a program)

Also make sure you have added the IIS_IUSRS with Full Control permission to that folder. You can always make sure you have the correct route by looking into your %IIS_Web_Root% System variable.

Hi CJ;

     I wonder if you did not redirect the File Service installation to install the software directly under the "wwwroot" folder. So it got placed somewhere other than "C:\inetpub\wwwroot\fileservice"?I have done that before too - LOL.

    If so, just re-run the SetUp.exe in the "C:\inetpub\wwwroot\appeon\plugin\fileservice" folder and select "uninstall". Then rerun the Setup.exe again to install the File Service and direct it to using the "C:\inetpub\wwwroot" folder as its target.

HTH
