Hi.
I have problems compiling our application on our Teamcity buildserver using AutoCompiler 2019R3.
When executing this:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Appeon\AutoCompiler 19.0\pbc190.exe" /d C:\BuildAgent\work\ed38704f104cf71f\buisy\buisy.pbt /o C:\BuildAgent\work\ed38704f104cf71f\buisy\buisy.exe /r C:\BuildAgent\work\ed38704f104cf71f\buisy\resources.pbr /w n /f /m n /x 32 /bg y /p "Planon essentialsFM" /cp buisy.exe,resources.pbr,0,1,1,0,C /de "Facility Management Software" /cr "Planon CAFM GmbH 2021" /v 8.7.0.0 /vn 8,7,0,0 /fv 8.7.0.0 /fvn 8,7,0,0 /ge 0

directly after starting it generates the two error message shown in attachments.

  • PBSHR.dll does not exist. Only a PBSHR190.dll
  • PBORC.dll does exist.

There were no problems using AutoCompiler 2019R2. What's going wrong?

Regards

Rolf

Tried it out. The error persists.

Attached you find, what was installed on my disc. Is that, what you would expect? I ask, because you wondered about the name pbc190.exe.

Have you "upgraded" from R2?

I found this in the earlier mentioned Pdf file:

2 Installing PBC190.exe
The PBC190.exe setup program is provided in the PowerBuilder Installer.
1. Start the PowerBuilder Installer (you must have administrator privileges to run
the installer).
2. Select to agree to the license terms and click Continue.
3. Click Install under PowerBuilder 2019 R3.
4. Select PowerBuilder Compiler from the Programs tab.
5. Click Install to begin the installation.
6. Click Finish when installation completes.
The PBC190.exe setup program does not support upgrade installation.

So that would mean you'd have to uninstall it, and then install it again.

regards.

Yes, it was upgrade from R2.

I'll try that out and come back.

It's the correct version:

I put in that parameter "/tr y". But where do I have to search for that tracefile? And what's it's name?

I'm sorry, I thought it could be useful.

In the folder where your pbc190.exe is, there's a "pbc.pdf" file. Never mind about this option, unless you have a 'machine code' executable:

"

/tr Whether to generate a trace file for troubleshooting or profiling

your application when you run the executable file. Values are y and

n (the default).

This parameter takes effect only when machine code executable is

generated.

PowerBuilder IDE -> Project Painter: Trace information option

"

In my opinion, the error messages indicate it cannot find the runtime files.

Can you try adding the location of the runtimes to your path?

It is already in the path.

Did you install the powerbuilder compiler for R3? (strangely enough that one is still named pbc190.exe).

Look at the properties > details of the exe to make sure it's the correct R3 version.

Try running it with "/tr" parameter to generate a trace file, maybe it will give some more information.

Hi Miguel;

FWIW: That is a bug. The PBC EXE should not have any numbering. same for ORCAScript (which also still has the numbering ) In the R3 release.

Hi Chris, like also answered to Armeen:

Could it be that someone forgot to adapt / release the updated version of PBC for R3?
