Any search window in our system gets a search criteria with the DW query mode. But when a DW is in query mode I cannot specify any string value starting with 'IN-' in any field on the DW.

Can anyone point out what is going on and how to solve the issue?

Thanks ahead.

the USER has to tell the dw how to handle it by entering either the keyword LIKE or an operator such as = ><

in-

does not work

=in-

DOES work

Hi Hua;

  Just a guess ... I wonder if its because "IN" is an SQL "reserved" word?

Actually when I specify the value "IN" it will convert to "'IN'" with single-quotes, before and after. If I specify string "IN-xxxxxx" it will be rejected immediately.

How does it reject the "IN-" ... by the DW column itself, when you take the DW out of QueryMode or when you try & execute a Retrieve() command?

it gets rejected when you tab off the field.
