I was doing some changes in one of our applications and I decided to turn on the title of a dw so it looks cool. Actually it did looks supper cool. I compile the application without testing the editing functionality of the columns. I push the application to the users and like 5 minutes later one of the users call me telling me she could not clicked at a particular letter in the sentence like she could do it before the change.

I started playing will all the properties of the column and datawindow and nothing. Then I turn off the datawindow title and everything started to work like before.

So if you turn on the title of the dw then the editing functionality for some reasons changes in the sense of if you try to click in a particular word in a sentence, the clicking does not work.

Maybe I have to do something else for everthing to work like if I do not have the dw title on.  Like always your advise are greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Clarence.

Hi Clarence;

  Were referring to adding a Title in the DWO's Header Band or turning on the Title property of the DW Control?

Also, please provide environment details, PB IDE version & build along with screen captures to help clarify your question.

Regards ... Chris

You can notice in the DWTitlePropertyOff.jpg picture you can tell the cursor is just before the B. And in the DwTitlePropertyOn.jpg I try to do the same thing and it just select word before the B. To replicate this issue just turn on any dw control title property and you will notice the different behavior.

Clarence.

Dw titles have been buggy for a long time. For example one of the problems was that you could drag a dw around when the title was set.

What we do, is use a static text to simulate a title.

Hi.

This is something I had not noticed... But yes it happens. When title is enabled, to place cursor to a specific position using mouse isn't simple. You have to select a word... This is strange. I haven't seen that because in general I do keep title disabled and in all datawindows where I do have enabled title, I do also have checked the auto selection property.

You may need to open a support case for that. While I haven't checked it's possible that this will be considered as a Sybase (legacy) bug.

Andreas.

Hi Everyone;

  Yes, this is a known issue with PowerServer 2020 and earlier versions. However, this is not an issue with Native, PowerClient or PowerServer 2021 and higher versions. For example: A PC/PS 2022 App with two DC's & their title property ON ...

Hi Clarence;

If you have a simple reproducible test case PB app, then please open a support ticket for this issue.
