Hi Appeon Team,

I am looking into the possibility to subscribe PS2021 License, deploy PS2020 + testing/finetuning PS2021, for the reason:

1. With Microsoft announcement on IE retirement coming year, we need move RDS application to PS2020 Web deployment;

2. Test/fine-tune the coding to optimise the CloudApp performance;

3. Total license position could be calculated/limited per subscribed numbers.

regards,

JX

Hi JX,

No, PowerServer 2021 and newer licenses are not downwards compatible with PowerServer 2020 and older.  The new pricing scheme and licensing model is quite different (and less expensive) from how PowerServer was previously licensed.  Also, please note that we will stop selling new licenses of PowerServer 2020 when the 2021 version is released.

Best regards,
Armeen

You can buy PowerServer 2020 version right now if you need it. But you can't take advantage of the new lower price or subscription model options. Sorry.

I don't see how IE has anything to do with RDS. You can continue with RDS until your app works well with PS2021.

RDS web access must be on IE, without the supporting/patch from Microsoft, we will have to move out from there on security consideration, yes, still have 1 year to fine-tune the App.

Thanks.
