Hello everyone,

I wanted to ask if Powerbuilder and especially the source file generation of Powerbuilder will work with Git Submodules? Does anyone have experience with this topic?
As I see it it should work, if I put the code of the submodule in its own folder and then make the corresponding source folder the submodule?

Best regards,
Livia Rasp

Hi Livia,

Git Submodules has not yet been implemented in PB, and I will record it as an enhancement request. Thanks for the question.

Regards,

Kitty

Hi Livia,

I think it's not going to be trivial because PB expects a ws_objects folder in the root folder of your project that contains all source code files. If you have a git submodule that contains *only* source files you might be able to integrate it into the ws_objects folder but I have not tried this.

Hi Benjamin,

Yes, that would have been my idea, that I use a subfolder in the ws_objects folder as a submodule. I was just wondering, if someone has already tried this.

If nobody has, I'll try it myself soon und update this thread :)

If you do, I would be very interested in how your experience turned out.
