This is a revised version of the same question I asked earlier:

https://community.appeon.com/index.php/qna/q-a/disappearing-application-from-windows-with-no-errors

I took the advice and upgraded PowerBuilder, rebuilt my app, and shipped it to the users. The users now say the problem is happening more frequently than before.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Have a few users having their applications disappear 5-8 times a day with no errors from powerbuilder or windows. It just *poofs out. I also have a test pc locally that has done this a few rare times.

2022 R2 Build 2828

Windows 11 Home 23H2 64 bit

I've yet to figure out a repeatable pattern for the error and I've yet to catch it w/ pbdebug.

I have had them:
-run "sfc /scannow" on elevated prompt.
-run "DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth"
-replace PB runtime files.
-throw everything into same folder as the .exe
-run the .exe as administrator

Lastly, created a pb.ini w/ the following contents and placed it into the same folder as the .exe
[Data Window]
ACCESSIBILITY=0

One time the error happened when waking up a laptop that went to sleep; the app was up after waking about 3 long seconds, then disappeared, no error.

I have 2 identical results from the event viewer from 2 different machines, 1 of which is my local one that rarely errors:

Thx Chris, I'll update again.

We let pfc handle it by firing a global non-visual pfc_systemerror (empty) from within systemerror:

gnv_app.EVENT pfc_SystemError()

Yes. I got/built/deployed the ones in pfc2022.zip from https://github.com/OpenSourcePFCLibraries

That's perfect .. thanks for that update!

Have you tried compiling & deploying your App with PB 2022 R3 build 3391 (latest MR) to see if that resolves the problem?

It may be a while before I can report back.

It took 3 weeks to get feedback from my R2 2828 build.

Hi Darren;

  Your build is quite old now. The current build you should be using is 3397.

  Have you coded the System Error event to capture any Application errors / exceptions?

  Regards ... Chris
