Hi, I have some web apps coded with PowerBuilder 2019 and deployed using PowerServer Build 1988.  I upgraded PowerBuilder and PowerServer Toolkit to build 2170 but I want to still deploy using PowerServer build 1988.  I have PowerBuilder 2019 build 2170, PowerServer Toolkit build 2170 and PowerServer build 1988.  When I deploy my application in Powerbuilder I am told my the Appeon support team that I can deploy using PowerServer build 1988 but I don't know how to do this?  Is it automatically going to deploy with this build?

Thanks

Adding to what Chris said, once you upgrade to PowerServer 2021 and newer, the PowerBuilder IDE allows you to choose exactly which build # to compile for.  So even though the IDE itself is the latest build, you can generate your app for older build or even older major version all the way back to 2021.

Hi Karyna;

   PB2019R3 build 2703 should be able to deploy to PS2020 build 1988. However, the PS Toolkit 2703 will generate code in accordance with PS2020 build 2703. So depending on what features your Web/Mobile App(s) use, there could be a runtime issue when the 1988 AWS or Browser plugin tries to execute the newer 2703 generated jScript. So IMHO you should make sure that you do thorough App testing before deploying to production. HTH

Regards ... Chris
