Hi,

Hope everyone of you is fine and doing well.

I wanted to create a search box wherein if I type in a single line edit the datawindow will start searching and start highlighting the row that matches my entered text even without hitting tab or enter key. Its like in every keydown it will start to search in datawindow in a specific column.

I found this sample

https://www.bcarter.com/psbc02_a.htm

but I didn't quite understand on how things done.

Can anyone give me another ideas or sample? That would be so much appreciated.

PS: I wanted to do that kind of approach because I'm dealing with thousand of datas.

By the way, Im using pb 2019 classic.

Thank you so much and Stay safe!

I did a presentation on a similar type of control back in 2012.  I also wrote an article on my website 'Anvil-of-Time.com'.  The overall theme of the presentation was simple datawindow improvements you could make to help in user's productivity.  The link to the article is here.

In the implementation I provided, the functionality is provided by a separate user object and can be applied to however many datawindows you wish.
