Please explain "use sheets". It'll save a file, being a workbook with one sheet, if I'm not mistaken.

Maybe the only way out, is to do an enhancement / feature request. But I'm not sure if Appeon would be interested.

The idea is run a report, save the datawindow as excel on one sheet, save the criteria for the report on another sheet.

Maybe do a CSV and append the criteria. I will look at the XLSX!

OLE needs excel to set a ConnectToObject("excel.application")

Thank you

Yes, indeed you'd need Excel. YW.

I deleted an answer here about not being able to SaveAs() to Excel when Excel is not installed, but .. it turns out there's something else preventing me to save any change, sorry about that. I just tested it and you CAN save as Excel, even when it's not installed.

Currently PB saves the data into an excel sheet, not the dw/ds to excel, with formatting and other features.  May be dw2xls utility could do that.  I use that utility to save dw to excel sheets, with some limitations it's working fine.  [Limitations are mentioned in their website itself ].

I feel appeon could do add this feature in future releases of PB.

Miguel Leeuwe,

Don't know what he means by

Looks like export to separate sheet is now possible.

< From website>

Conversion of a set of Datawindows and Datastores to separate spreadsheets of Excel workbook

Support of all data types

Support of all kinds of text and data formatting

OLE-components are not required

Excel 97/2007/2010 (XLS/XLSX(OOXML)) format support

Easy-to-use program interface

Good technical support.

See the documentation. Seems excel sheets could be named and multiple dws could be exported to different sheets.
