Does anyone else have this?

It takes more than 1 minute (timed it) to open a DB profile in OLE Microsoft OLE DB

Also creating a profile as soon as I choose SQLOLEDB as a Provider every stops for more than a minute.

I've tried changing the order of data entry, filling out all other fields (data source, database, user, pwd) before selecting SQLOLEDB as a Provider, it doesn't help, PB hangs for at least 1 minute.

With MSOLEDBSQL SQL Server profiles and other profiles I do not have this issue.

Once the profile is created there is no lag opening or using the database, just the profile creation/modification.

It's probably a setting somewhere that I'm missing but I have this on multiple machines and since at least PB version 2019

It seems to be related to the system being 'helpful' and finding all the servers for you.

I wish it would not do that. If you don't know the server name you should not connecting to it.

I was thinking it was something like that.

Should be an option because it's not finding any servers anyway as they are not on "normal" ports in my company

Hi Hugo;

  FWIW:  I have the same issue on my W10 & W11 test machines. This has been that way in PB2019, 2021 & now 2022.  However, all the other SS DB Client connection options are super fast. I never use OLEDB for SS, so I never think about why it's so slow.

Regards .... Chris
