Resolved Connection to Oracle 19c on Windows 11

Hello, On Windows 11 can't connect to the Oracle client

Here is the environment:

PowerBuilder runtime: 2019 R3 Build 2703

Oracle Client: Instantclient_19_18 and path is set correctly

Visual Studio Redistributable (64) 2015-2022

The error: OCI.DLL could not be loaded

 

Your help greatly appreciated

Hi Felix;

  The PB IDE is still a 32bit app, so make sure that you also install the 32 bit OCI.dll client as well. FYI: in PB 2022 you can run Apps directly from the PB IDE in either 32 or 64 bit mode. So make sure that you always install both Oracle Client bitnesses. BTW: I personally like the Oracle Instant Client the best but, that's just IMHO. HTH
