You should post a new question.

For PB 2022 R3 there required runtimes are different. Take a look at Database connections - - Application Techniques (appeon.com). .NET Desktop Runtime 6.0 is also required.

Andreas.

Hi,

Unfortunately that didn't solve it for me.
I uninstalled everything and then installed everything, even things I don't need just to be sure to find the pbado.dll file.
My version is PB 2022 R3 build 3356.

In the previous versions of PB 2021 and 2022 (2022.0.0.1892), the file has always been found under the runtime, e.g.
c:\Program Files (x86)\Appeon\Common\PowerBuilder\Runtime 22.0.0.1892\
c:\Program Files (x86)\Appeon\Common\PowerBuilder\Runtime 22.0.0.1892\x64\

So for my release I would expect it here:
c:\Program Files (x86)\Appeon\Common\PowerBuilder\Runtime 22.2.0.3356\

Has anyone installed PB 2022 R3 build 3356 and found the pbado.dll?
If so, where exactly / what exactly needs to be installed.
Or, is it not needed anymore and has the documentation not (yet) been updated?

Thanks in advance,

Erwin

Thanks John appreciate your help

I uninstall PB 2022 R2 and reinstall from the appeon.com website. And i still cannot connect using ADO i can with ODBC b ut not =ADO

The application was upgraded fromPB2021 which connects without issue after the update can no longer connect.

I dont know where to turn or debug. This is a showstopper for us as my company wants us to upgrade before the end of the year.

Any help advise will be helpful

Thanks

Malek

Hi, Malek -

I found the following information (highlighted) in the Connecting to Your Database publication (https://docs.appeon.com/pb2022r2/connecting_to_your_database/XREF_14307_Preparing_to_use.html):

If you install PowerBuilder using the PowerBuilder Installer (an online setup program), the ADO.NET interface is automatically installed. If you install PowerBuilder using the downloaded installation package (an offline setup program), select the ADO .NET Database Driver from the list of components.

If you used the downloaded installer, you may have to re-install PB 2022 and explicitly select the ADO.NET Database Driver.

Best regards, John

Hi,

I've got a question about distribution. If I can use my version of ADO .NET Database driver ex. to PostgreSQL, do I have to install .NET Runtime on the Machine from MSI installer or maybe I can load .NET Framework in any place and set the path to this folder?

FYI: Using an ADO.net client to interact with PostGreSQL is not planned to be in PB until PB 2025.
