Hi Experts,

This question is related to source control, I am using Wizsource as source control, I have added my application to source control, Now When I create a empty workspace and try to check out the files, I can't. Whether I need the scripts also to checkout the objects. How the user can access  new object created by another user.

Thanks

S.DEVASENAAPATHY

Source control isn't going to create the PBL files for you. You need to get a copy of the Workspace folder with the PBW, PBT and PBL files. Then you can do a 'Get Latest Version' in the PowerBuilder IDE to make sure you are up to date. This isn't a WizSource specific problem by the way.

Hey Roland, Thanks for your information. Now I facing one issue, kindly help me for that, I am using one workspace which contains 10 application, I can able to check out objects in all 10 applications, when I try to check out any one application out of this 10 using another workspace I can't.

The same application in one workspace I can able to work, when I try to open on another application I can't.

Hi Deva;

FYI: in the PB IDE, all interactions with any SCM software is managed at the Workspace object level. If you then have one WS per App, then you can manage its Source Code per App. HTH

The only way to have one application (target) in more than one workspace is to have the workspace files (.pbw) in the same folder and that the workspace is connected to source control with the same Project/User.

Wizsource comes with several help files (.chm if I'm not mistaken). I'd start reading those to learn how to work with Wizsource.

Also you said "When I create a empty workspace and try to check out the files, I can't". If you have an empty workspace, it will be empty, there are no files to begin with.

regards.

Hi Miguel,

Thanks for the info, From your reply, when a new user is coming and asking where I need to get the PB scripts, the files in Wizsource is not enough, is this correct, also we need to provide the Folder which has Workspace, PBT and PBL files.

Hi S;

  I would pose this question over to Roland Smith who runs TopWiz where the WizSource product comes from.
