I am trying to login today, which I log in every day and I'm getting an "Already Logged In" message.  I'm not logged in.  I tried to login/logout on the web but that did not clear anything up.  Can anyone help with this?

Año 2023 y el problema persiste, con la versión de PowerBuilder 2021 tengo el mismo problema. Es increíble que no lo hayan arreglado.

This is not a bug. The license management system was intentionally designed this way. We do not plan to change.

 I've attached what the page looks like for me when I attempt to follow the instructions above that state...

The other alternative is to login to the Appeon website and enter the User Center. Once there, select: License Management => PowerBuilder IDE => Release User and then force a logout via the "Release" link on your active session.

Hi Kevin, You are not the license administrator for your company. Only the License Administrator can release a logged in user. That is why you don't see the option Chris mentioned.

Hi Bill;

  This could be because another instance of PB is still open on another PC with your login attached. This can still happen using R3 as well if you left the IDE running and the PC locked and then tried to login / restart a R3 session on another PC.

  Regardless of your PB2017 revision - the key now is to remove the lock on your named instance. You can do this by:

  1. Locating the other PB2017 instance. Select the "Account Management" on the PB IDE's top right hand corner and then in the next dialog actually select the "Logout" link.
  2. The other alternative is to login to the Appeon website and enter the User Center. Once there, select: License Management => PowerBuilder IDE => Release User and then force a logout via the "Release" link on your active session.

Note that you may not have the privileges in the User Center if you are not your company's License Administrator. If that is the case, then you will need to contact your License Admin to perform #2.

HTH

Regards ... Chris

Hi Kevin ... FYI: The PB License Admin has the ability to name a secondary Admin do that if they are away, the alternate Admin can also perform this task.

Hi, every time I restart my computer I have to bother my boss to log me out. Is there a possibilty to avoid this?

Make sure that the option to logout on exit is checked. That way when you close PowerBuilder, it will log you out. Exit PB manually before restarting Windows.

If you are on PowerBuilder 2017 R2 or newer you should not have this problem.  If you are on PowerBuilder 2017 then this is a known issue that has already been resolved.  Since PowerBuilder 2017 R3 will be released on July 31, 2018 and it is a long-term support version I would recommend you upgrade to that version instead of R2 (assuming my guess is right that you are on PowerBuilder 2017).  Here is more info about the releases and the scheduled dates of general availability: https://www.appeon.com/developers/roadmap
