Greetings All,

I have recently installed PowerBuilder 2017.

I am trying to open a PB 12.5 project.  I click 'Open Workspace' and navigate to the workspace file in the PB 12.5 project.  I click on the PB 12.5 workspace file (*.pbw) and then click 'Open'.

Nothing happens...

Am I doing it wrong?  I expected that PB would prompt me to migrate the application and then I would be able to work with it.  Instead, the project explorer just shows '(No Workspace)'.

Thanks!!!

Paul

Hi Paul,

indeed, PB 2017 will ask ask you to perform project upgrade as soon as you select the PB 12.5 workspace file.

Make sure you have permission rights on the application folder.

Alternatively, start PB 2017 as administrator.

Best,

Marco

Thanks Kevin,

I was able to create a new workspace with a datawindow and run it.  But after Roland's comment that it is not supported, I think I will have my tech team create a Windows 10 Pro instance and just use that.  I have enough pain and suffering in my life, so I am going to behave.

Thanks!!

Paul

LOL if you have the workspace already created, it shouldn't be painful at all to add a target to it and wait for it to rebuild/migrate.  Certainly easier than spinning up a new instance, but I hear ya.  Hope you get it working.
