Can you install 2022 R2 to run side by side with earlier version on same machine for evaluation purposes without replacing current 2022?

Hi Jim, Minor versions of the IDE itself cannot co-exist on same machine, but starting from PowerBuilder 2019 R3 you can have minor versions of your app runtime co-exist.  So you can upgrade your IDE to latest R2 version but still maintain your source code projects for deployment to both 2022 and R2 simultaneously.

Hi Jim;

  No ... R2 is an upgrade to the GA version. So it will update all the IDE DLL's .

   Yes... Since Appeon PB IDE has been separated from the runtime, you can set your Apps build to 1900 (for example) to run / build a GA based App EXE or move the build number higher in the System Options dialogue to run / build an R2 App EXE.

HTH

Regards ... Chris

@roland - i'd want runtime version setting at the target level if possible. I have prior releases (on specific runtimes) that i have to support that in in older runtimes. PITA the way it works now.
