our company uses a piece of software that generates PSR files for client statements each month we get over 300 of these things.

they require opening each one individually in the software, then manually print.

I would prefer to just send each one directly to the printer by just dragging it to the printer icon.
I understand you can associate the PSR file type to InfoMaker, but can it print directly with a DDE link like that?

Hi Alex;

   I have a PSR Viewer that I built in IM's big brother PowerBuilder ... http://chrispollach.blogspot.com/2023/03/psr.html

It does the same thing as IM by the App user opening up a PSR one at a time & then you can print it. However, your request to have the App user drag a suite of PSR's to the PSR viewer app and then have it queue them for printing would be a very interesting enhancement request. Hmmmm ... ;-)

Does your shop have PowerBuilder as well as InfoMaker?

Regards ... Chris

I also have a PSR Viewer app that saves to PDF and various other formats. It sounds like he needs to print to paper.

Hi Roland;

Exactly.. My Viewer can do that but only one PSR at a time. Alex seems to be looking for a PSR => Printer with a "Bulk Printing" feature. ;-)

Am I correct that your company purchased an application from another company and that application produces PSR files?

The application must be written in PowerBuilder since PSR is a PowerBuilder/InfoMaker specific file format. Can you tell us the other company name and the application name? One of us might know the developers and be able to suggest how they can better support you.

that is a correct assumption.

However, that company is going out of business. the software is end of life. ergo... they brought me in to scavenge up a temporary solution until it can be replaced.

I have deployed a solution using info maker, for now. And have quoted a more in depth automation using PowerBuilder should they drag their feet on the migration

thanks

The simplest method would be a PowerBuilder app that had a button to select a folder and another button that would print all the psr files in the folder. It could even move them to a 'printed folder'.
