Hi All,

I'm working with the trial version of PowerBuilder 2017...currently using v 11.5.1.

We currently use Ghostscript to SaveAS PDF.  Ghostscript also has functionality of being able to programically combine multiple PDFs into 1 PDF which has been very useful to users.

I see where PDFs can now be created using Builtin engine but don't see where one could then programically combine them.

I wanted to check if it would still create and combine PDFs.  It does but now that Ghostscript has been deprecated, not sure how long before this doesn't work.

Any thoughts would be much appreciated!!

Thanks, Dave

Ghostscript is still supported and is the default. You have to change the PDF Method on the Data Export tab of the properties.

Hi Roland,

I had seen the below in one of the recordings from July 2016.

Even though Ghostscript (using Sybase DataWindow PS printer) still works in PB 2017 when I migrated an App,  was wondering if at some point in the future it would cease working.

On a side note,  we're using email code that I believe you wrote and that continues to work in PB 2017 very nicely:

Thanks, Dave

Hi Dave;

In addition to what Roland said .. the new NativePDF feature does not support PDF Merging. That is a great suggestion though for an enhancement! Please create a support ticket for this required functionality and the Appeon use that to get this suggestion on the official PDF enhancement list.

Hi Dave,

I use the pdf toolkit (free) to merge pdfs.

https://www.pdflabs.com/tools/pdftk-the-pdf-toolkit/

Very easy to create a cmd file and execute it.

HTH.,

Gerry.
