Greetings All.

Am i doing something wrong?

I installed beta 2 side by side with beta 1.

Themes works perfectly fine in beta 1 and i cant get it to work in beta 2.

Will greatly appreciated any help.

I did try to uninstall everything and install beta 2 only, still nothing.

For those who interested: problem was - new PB themes starting from beta 2 will not work with windows 7 classic theme selected on your windows 7 machine.

Hi Vlad;

   I saw your ticket .. thanks!

   Since this is working on W10 machines, and even on my test PC's. The problem could be related to your use of W7. I am having our Appeon Support Team try & recreate your predicament with Beta#2 on e of their W7 machines. We'll keep you updated via the open Ticket.

Hi Mariano.

Yes i do have it.

And i am not deploying anything yet i cant even see any changes changing themes within running app in pb.

And Yes, i did try deployment with beta 1 (theme180) and it was working flawlessly.

Please open a support ticket so we can TeamViewer to your machine. This is probably something really strange that is not efficient to resolve through Q&A format.

Hi Vladimir,

Please ensure you have the folder "theme190" in this directory:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Appeon\Shared\PowerBuilder

When deploying your application, it will also be necessary to include this folder within your app so the theme appears.

Hi Armeen.
Glad to hear you, how are you?

I did that before and i did it again.

Uninstall 2018

reboot

Uninstall 2019

reboot

Install PowerBuilderIDE-2019-FULL-2002-EN with all defaults (BTW, i only need .ado, runtime packager and help, but if i do that, source code is not getting installed, just FYI )

reboot

Create new directory and drop into current set of .pbl's (2017 R3)

Fire up, open up workplace, got migration info, migrated Ok.

Open application, additional properties, themes tab, pick Flat Blue, save.

Run the app - nothing is changed. Pictures attached.

And YES, if i do all over again with beta 1, i am getting new buttons, etc.

And No, there is nothing special about my machine, this is a naked win7 enterprise machine fully patched with all Microsoft updates as of today() with nothing on it, machine is dedicated for testing Appeon PB only.

 

So please help, i am willing to get on the phone with any of the engineers and use teamviewer or any other software to share screens and fix this issue, imho - it is an issue.

We're not aware of other beta testers having such basic issue with the UI themes.  Beta 1 and Beta 2 are not intended to be run side by side.  This may be your issue.  I would recommend fully uninstalling both Beta 1 and Beta 2, restarting your computer, and the reinstalling Beta 2.
