I am trying to have an application built using Powerbuilder 2019 connect to a Microsoft SQL Server database with TLS 1.2 enabled. The Database connection fails with a SSL Security Error. However, I am able to connect from within the Powerbuilder Dev environment through the database profiles section using SNC SQL Native Client to the same database sever that has TLS 1.2 enabled. Any thoughts?

Hi Sandeep;

     Unfortunately at this time, the TLS 1.2 protocol is not supported in either the ASE or SS DB native drivers. Even though those DBMS support this connectivity option.

     In order to use the TLS 1.2 protocol from your PB Apps over to those DBMS, you would have to use the ADO.Net driver in PB where TLS 1.2 is supported.

HTH

Regards ... Chris
