I work with a vendor that publishes their application using the appeon plugin.  I have a work from home user that cannot print from the application, it gives them a 'Communications Error' popup.  I have narrowed it down to their firewall (its locked down more than most wfh users), however I have logging turned up and I see nothing being blocked (nor do I know why they would not be able to print from a web page, however I'm sure its something weird that the appeon app is doing).

Any thoughts? I cannot find an article anywhere on bizarre ports that Appeon uses...

Can PB client/server print successfully in the same problematic machine?

Hi Miguel;

  Sounds to me like Steve is using the old PowerServer 2020 or older release that uses the old "Appeon Web" feature (just my guess). Appeon no longer has a Web Browser plugin (expect for the older PS releases).

Regards ... Chris

Hi Steve,

Is this a powerServer or a powerClient application?

You wouldn't know which version of powerbuilder or powerserver this would be?

If the software developer doesn't know, you should find a new one !

Found the issue. The application connects to a google hosted IP, which was flagged for reputation. Once I allowed traffic to that IP, all is well. Too bad that google cloud instance has 30+ ports open :(
