As per Appeon PB 2017 R2 release notes, below windows OS are supported -

  • Windows 7 32- or 64-bit with SP1
  • Windows 8.1 32- or 64-bit
  • Windows 10 32- or 64-bit
  • Windows Server 2008 32- or 64-bit with SP2 (supported for runtime)
  • Windows Server 2012 R2 (supported for runtime)
  • Windows Server 2016 (supported for runtime)

All windows server OS are not supported for PB development but only supported PB runtime.

Does anyone know if Appeon has any plans to start supporting PB development on any of the windows server OS and when it will be released?

Also if client selected to use Appeon PB 2017 on any of these windows server OS for PB development and building PB applications, then will Appeon provide support for any issues?

Thanks,

Abhijit

Hi

in case anyone is useful, we are using PB2017R2. I had problems with a client that has windows 7 32 bits and gave error 80090328 the certificate has already expired .. It was because the library uses lets encrypt and manually renewing the certificate could work. Unfortunately it is because windows 7 stopped having support and therefore all the certificates that accompany it.
Thanks Bruce Armstrong and Appeon very useful the library and works very well in 32 and 64 bits (pbsmtp2017R2)

No plans to officially support the IDE installation on Windows Server OS for at least the next 18 months, but I think Roland's advice sounds like a good compromise if it's not an option to install the IDE to a regular Windows desktop OS (e.g. Windows 7, 10, etc.).

If you run into a problem on an unsupported version, try to reproduce the problem on the most similar supported version. If the problem is reproduced, use that when contacting support or submitting a bug.
