I know this is an older version of infomaker, it was inherited during a company acquisition . We plan on upgrading this in the near future but are uncertain how to get the editing user to edit reports in database without giving them sysadmin rights on the databse? Any tips would be helpful! Been working on this for quite awhile.

The end user does not need sysadmin rights in the database to edit reports.

For the database they only need 'select' rights on the tables within the report SQL.

They will need write access to the folder where the library file (.pbl) is stored.

I do have UAC turned on in win 10 environment. the user has write access to the pbl file, given all rights accepts sys admin but still can not pull in data.. getting message that "Table "ast" has no columns; possible invalid table format. Do you want to continue in graphic mode. If grant sys admin rights this goes away and it works.

that just means the user does not have access to the tables. you must give them select rights OR higher (such as admin rights). You should discuss this with your dba as this is a database issue
