Hi,

If you want to "look" at the old application code, why don't you just migrate it to 2019?

I totally agree that our plan too however I have to do a couple of builds using PowerBuilder 12.1. If any body has PB12.1 I can use the setup for trial version?

Unless your running a very old MS-Windows O/S version, I doubt whether PB v6.1 would install, let alone run. Especially if you are using W10.

Okay, so still, then you don't need pb 6.1 but 12.1 (and migrate the 6.1 to 12.1).

I don't have 12.1, only 12.0, 12.5 and 12.6

Yes, I guess you can use the 30 days trial version.

Well, how hard will be defined by how complex your current UI. But I would say migrating to the UI framework will much painfull father than creating new application on top of it that so much easier after you design the flow.

As for my website post language, next will be in english.

@Zulmach, I tried PB.6.5.1 by downloading from your site however I was not successful installing because its failing after 93%. The installed stopped working and aborting to cause an issue. Do you have any other way I can get it PB6.5 or PB.6.5.1?

Should we really be encouraging people to download illegal copies of the software when they do not have licenses for them? I'm not sure that Appeon should be allowing this on these forums....

As long as you're within a 30 days trial version, I don't think there's anything illegal about it.

Also, I don't think you can still get the older (6.5.1 and before) from SAP or SYBASE or Powersoft.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I'm not sure that SAP would see it that way, there is no 30 day free trial on old versions now. There is no legitimate download site, the only people who have legitimate copies are long standing PB users who paid for support for years to get the versions as they came out. In my opinion giving them away for people to use is just wrong.

Appeon are offering 30 days free trial for their latest version, but I think that they would see it a bit disingenuous to install 30 day free trails for any version, especially for a "real world project"

I thought pb651 would spontaneously stop after 30 days. In that case yeah, your probably right: SAP, without doing any effort or giving any support on those versions might see it "differently".
