PB v12.1, b 7055
Windows 7, 32-bit o/s

Like Yuri, I need a new Source Control product, and I'd like to investigate the PB Native option.

1) Is anyone using PB Native? If so, do you like it? Hate it?

2) What are the limitation in PB Native?

3) Where's the documentation for PB Native?

4) Is PB Native still available in PB 2017?

Thanks,

Olan

It does seem that almost no one is using the current version of the PB Native SCC solution.

I wanted to try it just to see what it DID offer.

It looks like I'm going to be recommending WizSource as our new PB SCC solution.

Thanks to everyone for their feedback!

Olan - Have you tried GitHub as a free-option for source control?

I've looked at GitHub, as well as Subversion. Nothing I found indicated that they integrated with PowerBuilder smoothly, and while both products are open source, they both required an often-for-pay front end iif you wanted to implement anything other than command line control. Maybe I'm wrong, and I certainly have no experience with either tool.

UPDATE:

I was able to install both Git and Subversion and get them working. Of the two, I much preferred the Subversion because a) it cluttered up my menus FAR less than Git, and b) Git has an enormous footprint.

My recommendation for a source control solution ended up being WizSource from Roland's website:  http://www.topwizprogramming.com/wizsource.html.

i never really saw the point in 'pb native' since it doesn't allow you to rollback changes.
