Hi PB users,

I'm not familiar with the AMAZON AWS subject and our customers are wondering how they will be able to send emails from our application on AWS. At the moment, on Windows, we have two methods: PB MailSession (MAPI) and SMTP.

Do you think MailSession can still be used on AWS?

An Amazon SES configuration seems possible for SMTP: https://graphicious.co.uk/post/send-email-your-website-amazon-ses-smtp.
If you have any experience on this subject, I'm interested.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Pierre

In order to send via MAPI you will need a MAPI client installed with yout PB application. I'm guessing that your AWS environment is really a dedicated terminal server so you could install a MAPI client as well. As you say SMTP will work but this does not Leave a copy in the users sent items.

What email client is the user using? If this is office 365 then you can possibly install outlook on the AWS machine, otherwaise you will have to find an alternative MAPI client.

Running PB in a remote server environment does require any 3rd party products that you wish to link with being installked on that server too. It does not mater if AWS or any other deployment.

Hope this helps.

David
