Often the best way to view files that PowerBuilder doesn't support is to use the Web Browser control.

I have an example:

Hi Ben,
it does not seem completely clear to me the need,
however I can tell you that by interfacing with the web services exposed by SSRS,
it is possible to request the rendering of a report in one of the foreseen formats
(MHTML, HTML, PDF, CSV etc), indicating the parameters the operator interactively specifies from PB.
Alternatively you can use the mechanism called URL access which also allows you to provide the values
of the parameters provided by the report.
Otherwise, as Chris suggested, you can use ReportViewer control in web and window versions but not from PB,
but with an asp.net web app or a C # windows app.

Hope i was clear.

Luca

Hi Benjamin,

is possible integrate a PB application (or PowerServer webapp) with Reporting Server in 3 modes:

  • webbbrowser activex
  • web services available on RS platform (SOAP or REST if ms sql server 2017)
  • URL access and HTTPClient PB object

What do mean for agregar an RDLC ?

Best Regards

Luca

Hi Ben;

No .. RDLC reports are only available (AFAIK) within the closed Visual Studio / SQL Server ecosystem. There is a RDLC viewer control that you can use in either Winform / WebForm based applications or C#. Since Win/Web-forms are not supported and C# controls cannot be used in PB2017R3, the only suggestion that I can give you would be to develop a small C# RDLC Viewer App and then call that App from your PB App to view.

FYI: http://www.gotreportviewer.com

Hopefully, someone else can "jump in" here with some more wisdom.

HTH

Regards ... Chris
