Hi

Recently, many of our users (on Windows 10) have the problem that they can't start our application anymore. The error message "A referral was returned from the server" appears.

We can exclude the application from the UAC and everything will work out again. But it would be great to know what we can do to get the problem under control. We allready tried to set the requestedExecutionLevel to "asInvoker" but it didn't work either.

We are still using Powerbuilder 12.6, but we plan to switch to Powerbuilder 2017 at the end of January.

Best regards

Patrick

Here is our manifest file.

Hi Patrick;

   SAP PB 12.6 is not certified for Windows 10 - so that could be an issue in the way that it generates the manifest file. You would have to contact SAP's PB Support Team for a formal answer on this aspect.

   PB 2017 is W10 compliant. The suggestion I have at this time is to download a trial version of PB 2017 and compile your App using this version. Then see if a troublesome PC User works with the PB2017's generated EXE and it's manifest file. If the new version of the App now works on W10, then look at the generated manifest file from PB 2017 and see what the difference(s) are. You might be able to then manually tweak the PB 12.6 App version's manifest file to be the W10 compliant (if that is truly the problem).

  Just a random thought that might get you through this issue until you can formerly upgrade.

Regards . .. Chris
