I open InfoMaker 2019 Build 2083.

I then run a report and click File > Save Rows As.

I then choose Excel12(*.xlsx) with headers as the Save as type, and then click Save.

InfoMaker then crashes.

But InfoMaker does not crash if I choose Excel8 or pdf...

This is what I see in the Event Viewer:

Application: IM190.EXE

Is this at all related to https://community.appeon.com/index.php/qna/q-a/abort-saving-a-datastore-as-xlsx-in-64bit? I'm not a programmer, so if it is, can you break it down into lay terms what I might need to do to avoid this from happening? :)

Thanks!

Here was the resolution to this: We needed to upgrade to InfoMaker 2019 Build 2107 from Build 2083. Thanks for your help, everyone!

Hi Paul;

    You need to have ...

  • The assembly "Sybase.PowerBuilder.DataWindow.Excel12.dll" installed or deployed with your IM App's EXE
  • The .NET 4.x runtime (the XLSX feature uses that) installed as well.

HTH

Regards ... Chris

XLSX was added to PB in version 11.5.1, if I remember well from a recent question by Roland.

Wow ... So even further back then I remember. That PB / IM release was probably based on .Net 3.0 - whereas, I was thinking of PB / IM 12.5 that now supported .Net 4.0.

Either way, the Excel DLL still needed the .net runtime in order to perform the SaveAs(XLSX). ;-)
