Hello,

I was wondering if anybody knows whether the Pipeline object will be capable of reading data from json files in near future.

Best regards,
Konstantin

Thanks Miguel! Do you really think this is a proper way to submit an enhancement request? Submit it as a bug? I don't see any other ways of doing it though, but I might be missing something.

Hi Konstantin, Please send email to product@appeon.com. Our product management team monitors this inbox and logs the enhancement requests. Thanks.

You're welcome. Yes, I do it all the time, but it seems that Armeen prefers an email?

No problem, I can do that.

The only disadvantage is that others don't see the requests being made.

Hi Konstantin,

That would be a nice enhancement.

I think you should ask for Appeon to build this enhancement by creating a new "bug", saying it's an enhancement request, on https://www.appeon.com/standardsupport/search

Another nice feature would be to be able to import JSON data into a datawindow or datastore.

regards.

What I meant is from the IDE when opening up a datawindow in the library painter or system tree, preview the data and be able to import data from a json file. In 2019 R2 at least, that's not supported.

I do admit also that I wasn't aware of the ImportJson() function, so that's cool info!

I meant the direct import from a JSON file to a destination database/table using only the PowerBuilder Pipeline object, no datawindows involved. Just like pipelines work with DB to DB data transfers. I failed to find any reference to pipelines in that link...
