PBv12.1, b6158
Windows 10, 64 bit platform

Suddenly, for no reason that I can see, the IDE is >>> EXTREMELY <<< slow. I can input a MAX of 3 keystrokes which you cannot see, then I get the blue circle WAIT icon that replaces the arrow, then my previous 3 keystrokes appear.

If I just sit there and do nothing, I get the blue cycle icon every 6 seconds.

This only SEEMS to be with two large windows in one application.

One keystroke
Wait 6 seconds
Another keystroke
Wait 6 seconds
.
.
.

Once in a while, this will clear up and I'm back to normal editing speeds. Then I SAVE, and it starts all over again.

Any idea on what might be causing this?

Thank You.

I remember first attempt when IDE behaved strange was to ensure all hardware drivers (especially keyboard, mouse, touchpad, touchscreen, pen, etc.) are fully updated.

I'm now working in PB 12.5 and it is sometimes extremely slow in response; shortcuts not working at all but same action still possible using mouse. I've concluded it is when SCC interfaces refreshes the system tree status markers. IDE practically unusable for several minutes - so I increased status refresh interval to 120 minutes. This way it only bogs me down few times per day.

Good luck,
/Michael

BTW: On Windows 10 you may see benefit of using compatibility mode so that Win 10 emulates older win version towards PB 12.1 IDE. Some low-level event sequences in Win10 (actually starting in Win8) are different than pre-Win8.
