Hi,

I have "converted" our existing C/S application to PowerServer and it works great!

The remaining issue is how to allow end users, who don't have admin rights, to launch the application?

Currently when launching the application it first asks "Open Cloud Launcher?" and then  when asnwering "Yes", the next question is "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?"

Is there a way to make it so that these don't popup?

Thanks,
Kari

Chris,

Thanks, following the instructions made a difference, now I don't get anymore the "D you allow making changes" window.

But still, the "wants to open the Cloud Launcher" window appears. I recall that there was a "do not show this window again" option, but now it is not present.

Can we get rid of this popup window as well?

Kari

Hi Kari;

Are you referring to the pop-up coming when using the App's URL or from launching the App via it's O/S "short-cut" or both?

The Cloud App Launcher that doesn't require admin rights won't auto start if launched from the URL. So what I suggest you do is configure your project object to create shortcut and use the shortcut to start the app subsequent times. If subsequent times you do not use URL to launch from Web browser then there will be no pop-up.

Hi Kari;

   That sounds like a CAL generation issue. If you generate the CAL for "all users" - then you will need "local admin" rights to install it. Hence the prompt that you are getting. If you generate the CAL for the "current user" only, you should not get that prompt.

  Just regenerate the CAL from the "Tools" menu of the PB IDE and change the install rights as above. That should fix this issue.  HTH

Chris,

Where in the Tools menu is the option about CAL's? I'm using PB 2022R2 build 2819 and can't see anything related to CAL's. Searched the Internet and there were discussions about the CAL's but no mention of where they get generated.

.

The PowerServer I'm using is the development version that comes with PB.

Thanks.

Kari
