Resolved Upgrading from PowerBuilder Enterprise Version 9

Hello everyone and thank you for taking my question.  Our department wants to upgrade our current PowerBuilder Enterprise (not Standard) version 9 to PowerBuilder 2019.  We have the very basics in how our applications were built, we are just utilizing our Client Server piece without any web or mobile functionality.  What type of license do we need to get to get our Version 9 Enterprise to 2019?  Can we get by with just the 2019 PowerBuilder 'Standard' version when we migrate from PowerBuilder 9?  Thanks in advance for your advice.  - Mike

Hi Mike;

   Yes, if your App is just the normal Client/Server base MS-Windows application - then the "Standard" Edition of PB 2019 would suffice. If you decide that you would like to build Web Services from PB you can always upgrade later on at any time to the PB "Cloud" edition and of course, if you decide to venture into Mobile or Web, the "Universal" edition upgrade can be purchased at any time as well.

  FWIW: If you are planning to purchase more than one copy of PB2019, you can buy the "Standard" edition for the main PB developers on your business App but also one or two "Cloud" and/or "Universal" editions of PB as well to play around with the "advanced" features of those editions. If you use the "on-line" license model for your PB installations, you can even swap editions between PB developers if Team "A" wants to try a prototype of a Web Service or Mobile/Web App and then later on, have Team "B" try the same. All dynamic and on-the-fly license assignments.
