I started receiving the "Specified database file in use" error today when trying to run our web app.   It had been working fine before today.  What can I do to fix this problem?   I'm running SQL Anywhere 16 PB 2019 and PowerServerPB2019

Hi Robert,

If you have started the database in PB or other applications, PowerServer would fail to start with this pop-up message.

Please try to fix the issue in either of the two ways below:

  1. Make a copy of the database file. Then create an ODBC data source to connect to the new database file and use it for PowerServer only.

This is the same way as how it works on the PowerServer sample, with the AppeonSample used for PB and the AppeonSampleForServer used for PowerServer.

  1. If you want to connect to the same database, please refer to the article below to setup the ASA startup as windows services:

https://support.appeon.com/index.php?/Knowledgebase/Article/View/31/11/how-to-setup-the-asa-startup-as-windows-services

Then connect to the service in the ODBC data source. Please check the link below:
