Resolved Questionable PB Behavior

My PB 2017 R3 application is able to read from and write files to destinations that are on \\servername\folders\ (UNC paths) without any issues.

However, when I run the very same application that is migrated to 2019 R2 (trial as of this post), that ability is gone.

The 2019 R2 version fails to recognize any \\servername\folders\ (only my local PC's C:\ works. Not even any other mapped with letter drives on my PC. Just C drive)

Is that behavior by design and by intention, or have I gone crazy?

This sounds like a Windows 10 restriction.

Be sure you have set the User settings as low as possible:
   Control Panel / User accounts / Change User Account Control Settings --> slide the bar to the bottom

Check the other security settings as well. By default, Windows 10 sets it security to be as annoying as possible.

Hi CJ;

   Assuming that your using the same MS-Windows login (and thus privileges) ... does it work OK if you run your PB 2019 Rx App EXE's as ADMIN?

Hi Chris

When I run my app's EXE, it sees UNC locations. That's great!

It doesn't recognize those UNC when I run it from the IDE.

Start the IDE using "Run as Administrator" option.

I did. I launched 2019 as an admin and ran the app. It didn't not see any UNC.
