Hi,

When using datawindows in query mode that contains dropdowns - the value in the data column is displayed, not the display value. The data column contains the table's primary key which is a sequence no, and the display column contains f.ex. a description column.

When the column containing the dropdown has focus, the correct value being the description is displayed. But when we exit the column, the value displayed changes to the sequence no which is the data column.

Please see attachment showing an example.

This is a problem with all dropdowns when the datawindow is in query mode.

Has anyone else experienced this and found a solution?

Thanks.

The query mode is set at runtime, and the SQLCA is set right before turning the datawindow into query mode.

Yes, it only occurs before the retrieval of data in the datawindow. When the data is retrieved, the columns show the correct values (i.e. the display column)

Thanks your for reply.

No, there is no override edit on the columns. They contain a drop-down datawindow with the rows available for selection.

trace your code to see what is going on.

can you switch back and forth in your application between querymode on/off? Does it occur only prior to a retrieve? when do you set sqlca on your datawindow?
