Hi,

In the roadmap for Powerserver 2022 R2/R3, I see that feature "PowerServer projects support DB2"

Our current Powerbuilder application use a SQL server database (Most of our Query) and a IBM AS400 DB2 (7.3) Database with an ODBC (+/- 50 read only query).

Does that feature mean that this will be supported (May be without an ODBC) ?

Our main problem migrating to PowerServer is this because this is actually not supported.  One of our solution is to replace those query by manually creating some api, but this is lot of work... Waiting for that feature could be a better option for us.

Do you already have a highlevel targetted time for a release that will include this feature?
Those that release will be a candidate for LTS release? If no, which one?

Thanks

Mathieu Normandeau

Hi Mathieu,

We plan to add support for DB2 for PowerServer projects in 2022 R2.  Most likely the connection will use the .NET Core driver.

The R2 schedule is still under discussion. You may expect a beta version in Q2, 2023, I believe.  Currently it is undecided whether R2 will be a LTS version.

Best regards, Julie
