Over the last couple of years IBM is advising their clients to move away from "traditional" WebSphere application server to their new server named Liberty. IBM WebSphere Liberty is not derived from "traditional" WebSphere product and they actually have an open source version called Open Liberty. It does have EJB 3.0, 3.1 and 3.2 support along with the latest JVM's. "Traditional" WebSphere is stuck at Java 8 with and IBM has no plans to provide support beyond that. So my question for Appeon is PowerServer Web supported on the IBM WebSphere Liberty application server?

Hi Sean, It is definitely not officially supported, but whether there is a hack you guys could do to make it work I can't say.  At this point it is not clear how extensive of change is required to support this or how many of our customers demand this.  So I'm sorry to say that I can't even give you a possible estimate of if/when we address this.

Regards,
Armeen

I understand and appreciate the quick reply. I will let you know if/when we get around to testing PowerServer with Liberty.

Thanks,

Sean
