I am testing PowerServer and the .ini file works fine for getting static info that I have set. I also user GetProfile and SetProfile for data the client selects and this does not seem to keep values.  Ho can I let the user set and keep values?

Hi John;

     The INI files that you deploy via PowerServer can be updated and will save the information that you set via the SetProfile() command. Just remember though that the INI file will be re-deployed to the App users when you redeploy a new version of your App to PowerServer. So in order to keep INI values across App updates, I would use an INI file that the App created that is not deployed via PowerServer. That way, the INI values will stay intact.

HTH

Regards .... Chris

Thanks! Creating a local .ini file worked.

I would store the settings in a generic settings table in the database.

I have moved almost everything to the DB that i have historically put in .ini files but this is for the userid to default into the login box.

registry functions are supported in the web version (but are not fully supported for IOS mobile)
