Hi eveyone;

I'm starting with PowerClient and I'd like to be more clear when to use "startup with background service" option and what effects would it have on the user's PC, for example a Windows service would be created automatically?

Thanks in advanced for any help.

Pablo.

Hi Pablo,

The "with background service" option will run the launcher as a service, which requires admin privileges.  We made this option because the install process is a little more seamless than without a service.  For example, this option will automatically launch the application after installation and the user doesn't have to click on a browser pop-up message box to grant permission to run.

On the other hand, if your users do not have admin privileges then you should use "without background service" option.  We make this the default option because most of our customers don't give their users admin privileges.

Best regards,
Armeen

Perhaps "service" is the confusing word. It is a background process not Windows Service. So to answer your question, no it will NOT create a Windows Service.
