Hi Guys,

My machine is dying on me so need to put PB11 on a new machine. I have an upgrade license and generated a new key. I'm not having luck when loading a new license key.  Maybe because I generated an alternate license or do I need to install PB10.5 before I can install since it’s an upgrade version?  Anyone remember any of this stuff.

Thanks Michael

You're a legend. Safe mode allowed the system to accept the key.

Thanks Michael

Hi Michael;

   Yes, the old Sybase website can check in your old license then generate a new one. You have two choices, either a local license file based on a HD serial number or a network MAC address. You can also choose a SYSAM server floating license. For the local license, make sure that you generate the license for the correct HD or MAC number.

  If your installing PB 11.x on a newer W10 pc, it may not work because v11. X was not W10 compliant. The trick here that I've used is to boot W10 into "safe mode" & then run the install & license activation that way. Then reboot into normal mode for use.

HTH

Regards ... Chris
