Hi,

We are migrating our Oracle Database from "Oracle Database 11g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.4.0" to "Oracle Database 19c EE Extreme Perf Release 19.0.0.0.0".

To make sure our PB supports cloud DB we are planning to migrate PB from PB2017R2 to PB2021.

When setting up DB profile we are getting below error in PB2021,

Same error comes up when we try login to this new DB through new Exe as well as old Exe.

All old DBs are connecting fine in PB as well as Exes.

We need help in setting up PB to connect to new DB to proceed with Development of Exe using PB2021 for new DB.

More Infos:

I have Oracle Client 11.2 installed in my system.

SQL Developer is able to connect to new DB in same system.

Did your install the correct oracle client (32 bit) for the pb IDE?

You can set an environment variable in windows name TNS_ADMIN to indicate the path to where the tnsnames.ora file is located.

regards.

1) I assume you added the TNS entry into the TNSNAMES.ORA file for the new databases.

2) As per Chris Pollack O19C compliance was added to PB 2017 R3 in build 1915 (Dec 2019) and PB 2019 build 2170 (Dec 2019). Both of those releases were MR's.

Ensure you are using the correct version of PowerBuilder.

3) Ensure that you are using the correct driver.

Good Luck,

Olan
