we have been using PVCS for decades with PB10, and 12. Recently I have upgraded to PB2019 (Universal edition) on Windows 10 machine. I am trying to connect to my existing source control, It connects fine and then a few seconds later it disconnects (the round green Icons turns to + sign on all objects as if the object is unregistered).

the pbscc.log file shows the "connect is established..." but still showing + sign on all objects.

log file entry:

6/17/2019 09:48 Source Management Initialization...
Scc Provider: ChangeMan Version Manager
UserID: msiddiqui
Project Path: /HiCAMS-R5X-Vendor-R3X?PVCS Version Manager?V:\PVCS_VM\HiCAMSDB?
Aux Project Path: ?PVCS Version Manager?V:\PVCS_VM\HiCAMSDB?
Local Project Path: C:\Z_hicams_vendor

Scc multi-threading defaulting to TRUE
Connection to source control established

----------------------------------------------------

I have also deleted all PBG files and got latest version on target, also tried single PBLs too

but dialogue box never showed list of objects:

I contacted Serena/Microfocus support but are saying they have not changed anything, it's PB.

Hi Shoaib ;

    Please try adding the following to your PB.ini and see if that solves your issue ...

[JavaVM]
CreateJavaVM=0

Note: The working PB.INI is not the one in your PB IDE's installation folder. Instead, it will reside within your MS-Windows personal work area, as follows:

C:\Users\*YourName*\AppData\Local\Appeon\PowerBuilder 19.0

HTH

Make sure that you updated the correct PB.INI instance. ;-)

Thanks Crhis, that was it, I made the entry in other location, this time it was in ..../Appdata/local/...

Since I have migrated t newer PB19, should I create a new source archive database to start fresh for PB19

because in future if I checkout object from PVCS, wouldn't it ask for migration again?

Thanks again.

No, migration only happens once.

Hi Shoaib;

   That is great news!

   By a new Source Database ... Are you referring to your Source Code Manager?

I meant create a new folder or project in PVCS to start fresh.
