Hi Alex;

That is great news!

Sounds like maybe an Anti-Virus or Active Directory "policy" setting.

Hi Alex;

  This can also be caused by the IDE's registry settings. If these get too far "out of wack", the IDE can have satility problems. This goes way back to PB 8.0 - so its nothing new.

  Here are the steps to return the IDE back to its installation defaults ...

1) Start REGEDIT utiliy

2) Navigate the the folder path "Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sybase\PowerBuilder\17.0\Toolbar"

3) Delete the "Toolbar" entry and all of its sub-folders and entries

4) Restart the PB2017Rx IDE. It will now rebuild the registry entries you just deleted - just using its "default" values.

  Once you get the IDE up and running again, I would also remove the "Reopen painters..." option in the IDE's "System Options" Dialog, as follows:

One way this can happen is if you are using target A, but the files in the Library Painter are incorrect.

Example:
   Target A uses the files located in C:\APPS\Folder_1
   The LIbrary Painter is displaying the files in C:|APPS\Folder_2

Hi Olan,

But I don't understand what means: the files in the Library Painter are incorrect.

Thanks,

Alex

Workspace APP_1

2 targets are in the worskpace: Target_1 and Target_2

Each target has a seaprate set of PBLs located in different folders.

The current application is TARGET_2

In the Library Painter, the list of files displayed are for TARGET_1 files!

Now if the developers opens up one of the files from Target_1, sever errors can occur.

That's what I meant by "incorrect files". Apologies for not being more specific.

Hi Alex,

what are possible environment differences between one of your developer and the rest of the crowd?

Everybody else is just fine with PB IDE?

What if you upgrade to latest R3 #1880?

Best,

.m

Hi Marco,

Yes, there are environment differences for each wolf in our crowd ( from Windows 7 32-bit to Windows 10 64-bit )

For example, Windows 10 64-bit 17134.523 installed on my PC while unhappy developer have Windows 10 64-bit 17134.590.

All developers are just fine with PB IDE, and unhappy deleloper was just fine before yesterday!

Now he may run and debug programs from IDE and edit objects from Source ( super programmer! ).

I'll try to install R3 #1880 on Monday.

HTH

Best regards.
