Resolved PB 2022 Installation directory

Hello,

PB 2022

What's the default installation folder of PB 2022?  
Is it C:\Program Files (x86)\Sybase ?  Or C:\Program Files (x86)\Appeon ?

For me it's installation in C:\Program Files (x86)\Sybase.  Is that correct?

Hi.

In my computer the installation path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Appeon\... And this should be the default location.

Registry settings for powerbuilder are in Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Sybase\PowerBuilder which I believe was left like that to avoid issues.

By the way Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Sybase\PowerBuilder\22.0\Location key in registry says C:\Program Files (x86)\Appeon...

I guess something is different in your computer. Don't know why.

Windows 10.

is C:\Program Files (x86)\Sybase

Hello,

1. I uninstalled PB 2022.
2. Reboot computer
3. Tried to Install

Default Destination Location is


May be the destination location is taken from somewhere from my computer.   May be that I might have installed PB 11.5 after installing PB 2017, PB 2019, which might have changed the default location.  I don't remember whether I've installed PB 11.5 like that, but a possibility.

This should be the reason. That you have an older PB installed. In my PC I do have only PB 2019, 2021 & 2022.

Another key value that should be different in you computer is: Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Sybase\PBRootLocation. For me it is C:\Program Files (x86)\Appeon. I guess in your computer it is C:\Program Files (x86)\Sybase...



Maybe the installer looks for a value in this key and if it's not existing it defaults to C:\Program Files (x86)\Appeon.



Anyway, I would not change anything.

I checked PBRootLocation in my computer, it's C:\Program Files (x86)\Appeon.

May be it changed after my (second) installation of PB 2022.
