Hello everyone.

I am working with PB 11.5. The IDE crashes whenever I open the datawindow painter. I did a reinstall as well but that did not help. Any ideas how to get it working again? Here is the entry from the application event log:

probably your layout settings - need to delete them from the registry:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER/SOFTWARE/Sybase/Layout/Default

search in your favorite search engine for "datawindow crashes ide"

Does it crash on other machines also or only your machine?

Are you running this on Windows 10?  If yes, try the trial version of PB 2019 R3 and see if that still crashes because PB 2019 R3 supports Windows 10 but PB 11.5 does not.

Hi Armeen,

Thanks for the quick reply. It happens on only 1 machine which runs Win10. In fact everything was ok until yesterday.

As a side note, I have been pushing my company to upgrade but unfortunately they are not inclined to do so. I hope that changes soon.

Thanks.

I see. If the other machines that don't have problem are also Windows 10, then your crash issue is probably not Windows 10 related. I hate to say this, but probably the fastest way to resole your issue is you wipe out your machine and do clean install of Windows and then PB 11.5.
