Resolved Orca Script for build machine

Hi,

 

If we want to build our powerbuilder 2017 R3 application on a build machine, do we need some licence?

We dont want to use the PBC apps to compile because we don't want one PBD by PBL.

We will have some conflict between the PBD generated on some server..

 

We don't need the IDE on the build server.

Is there any package that we can install on the build server (Where we can find it)?

You can also run PowerGen with the AutoCompile framework.

Hi Mathieu,

You don't need a license in order to install PBC or ORCA on a build machine.

On a machine where Appeon PowerBuilder is installed, (by default) you can find the installation files on this route: C:\Program Files (x86)\Appeon\PowerBuilder 17.0\AutoCompiler

Once you run the installation file, both PBC and ORCA will be installed on your machine.

Both Compilers work by using commands on the command prompt, there is no interface for these compilers.

Documentation for standalone compilers:

 

  • PBC -  C:\Program Files (x86)\Appeon\PowerBuilder 17.0\AutoCompiler\pbc.pdf
